LEARN ABOUT NTI FROM ALUMNI
As NTI Program Representatives/Teaching Artists, we travel the country teaching, meeting, and getting to know future NTI students. We are passionate about sharing our experience as NTI alumni to provide guidance and support for all applicants seeking the transformative experience of NTI. The choice to study away is a major commitment and we are here to help make sure that all students have the information they need to find the right program and successfully navigate the application process.

PROGRAM REPRESENTATIVES & TEACHING ARTISTS
"I chose NTI because of the intensity of the schedule. I wanted to prove to myself that I could eat, sleep, and breathe theater for the rest of my life. I was pleasantly surprised by how much more I got out of the program. It deepened my love for theater and my confidence for making it more than I could have ever imagined."
Originally from New England, Carrigan (NTI Fall ’15) is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College where she studied acting and psychology. Carrigan has performed in community, professional and educational theater at places like Hedgerow Theater, The Winnipesaukee Playhouse, Playwrights Horizons (New Works Lab), Access Theater, and with the Fresh Ground Pepper Theater Company. As an advocate for theater education and outreach, Carrigan has also worked for various non-profit theater organizations including Adam Driver’s Arts in the Armed Forces, the 52nd Street Project, Phoenix Theater Ensemble and Artists Striving to End Poverty.
Carrigan is the Lead NTI Program Representative/Teaching Artist because she wants to help future theatermakers develop their artistic visions under the guidance and support of the expansive O’Neill network. She meets and teaches workshops with students at colleges, universities, festivals, and conferences across the country.
“I chose NTI because I wanted to be pushed in a way that I had never been before. I wanted an environment where I was surrounded by like minded peers who could challenge me to be the best artist I could be.”
Charlotte (TM '17, NTI-AP Spring '18) is a graduate of the University of Missouri where she studied theater. She is an emerging playwright who got her first taste of writing while being a student at NTI. In 2017 she spent a fantastic summer at the O’Neill as a playwright in the Theatermakers Summer Intensive. After those six weeks she was left wanting more so she attended a full NTI semester in the spring of 2018 as an Advanced Playwright. Since attending NTI Charlotte had a play produced at Potluck Productions and two staged reading at the Mizzou New Play Series. After these experiences Charlotte is now an emerging writer who wants to be a show-runner for network television, specifically on the CW or Freeform.
Charlotte is the NTI Admissions Coordinator and Program Representative because she wants to help young artists like herself develop a strong network of peers and mentors as well as realize their artistic dreams. She regularly visits and speaks with students at theater festivals and conferences throughout the country.
