ABOUT THE APPLICATION
The National Music Theater Institute accepts applications via our Submittable platform.
Applicants will be asked to create an account, which will allow access to the application and let them save their work.

The application requires the following materials:
Personal Information: Details such as full name, date of birth, address, etc.
Application Written Questions (in three to five sentences):

Name one of your favorite musicals and/or characters from a musical and explain what makes it special to you.

What are your strengths as a performer?
-
What are the things you’d like to work on if accepted?
Two References: Name, contact information, and relationship of an individual who can speak to your capabilities and potential.

Theatrical Resume: Approximately a page in length.

Headshot: A high-quality photo of your face.
Audition Materials (6 separate video files):

Slate: Record a video stating your name and feel free to share your pronouns if you like.

2 Monologues:
-
Monologue 1: Record a memorized monologue written by a professional writer from a play, TV or film no longer than 60 seconds. Please do not submit original material.

Monologue 2: Record an additional contrasting memorized monologue written by a professional writer from a play, TV or film no longer than 60 seconds. Please do not submit original material.

2 Songs:

Song 1: Record a memorized song from a musical no longer than 90 seconds. You may not sing acapella, you may not self-accompany, and you may not use a karaoke track.

Song 2: Record an additional contrasting memorized song no longer than 90 seconds. This selection can also be from a musical or pop/rock. You may not sing a cappella, you may not self-accompany, and you may not use a karaoke track.

Dance: Record a 30-60 second clip of yourself dancing. Be sure that your full body is in frame for the duration of the video.
